The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry—home modifications for aging in place. Aging-in-place means remaining in one's home safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. It means the pleasure of living in a familiar environment throughout one's maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives. It means the reassurance of being able to call a house a "home" for a lifetime.

Econo Renovations has been a member of the Nova Scotia Home Builders’ Association – Central Nova (NSHBA) since 2004. As a member of this association, we have proven ourselves as a professional renovator and builder. The NSHBA focuses on providing the general public with information about the residential construction industry and ensures its members are up to date with industry standards and developments. Their website contains a wealth of information on choosing a renovator or builder and what is going on in the industry.

Peter Briand, president and estimator for Econo Renovations, is the 1st vice president of the board of directors for CHBACentral Nova and the chair of the Renovators’ Council committee. He was also instrumental in the development of the NSHBA’s Safety Manual and sits on the Apprenticeship Advisory Committee. He is committed to setting a high standard of performance and safety in the construction industry.

Each year we participate in the NSHBA’s Home Show. If you are planning to renovate or build, this is an excellent opportunity to meet a variety of professionals at the same time. There are many other exhibitors as well so that you can do all your research under one roof. Meet face to face with renovators and builders, suppliers and other members of the industry. You can also leave your contact information so that we can follow up with you after the show to get started on your project, knowing who we are and what we can do for you.
